The Australian Embassy in Copenhagen is once again arranging ANZAC Day in the centenary period of the First World War.
We invite all Australian and New Zealand citizens to join us in commemorating ANZAC Day which is the principal day of remembrance for those who sacrificed their lives in the Gallipoli campaign and in subsequent military conflicts, and for honouring our servicemen and women.
In Denmark we will gather on 25 April at Kastelskirken for a commemoration service followed by a wreath laying ceremony. The event starts at 9am in the church and will end at 11am. Following the wreath laying ceremony we’ll be serving tea, coffee and biscuits.
To attend, please register no later than 16 April through the eventpage, including any guests you may bring. Be advised that access to the church will not be permitted without prior registration, and that once you are registered your name may be disclosed to the Danish authorities responsible for providing security.
For security reasons, do not bring large bags or backpacks with you.
We advise guests to use public transportation for the day, as parking in the area is very limited. There will be a short walk from the church to the wreath laying site over cobblestone. If you have significant mobility issues we advise you to bring a carer with you.
We look forward to seeing you on 25 April
